I adore the fresh sage and maple syrup along with the pork, it is such a great combination of flavors. The maple adds just a hint of sweetness and he edges become nicely caramelized.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic microplained or finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt/pepper (omit pepper for AIP)
  • oil for pan if needed

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Start by creating 2 inch round patties 

  2. Set them to side until all the meat is shaped in to patties. 

  3. Heat a nonstick pan to medium heat. Add a little oil to the pan if needed.

  4. Without crowding the pan, start cooking the patties. Cooking them in batches if necessary.
  5. Cook 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on thickness or until golden brown 

  6. Remove from pan and let any excess fat drain on to a paper towel.
